Modern red half morocco (lightly rubbed). Pietro Bartoli first produced the present set of engravings, without text, in 1677. They were based on the original paintings in the Codex Vaticanus , the earliest known 4th-century manuscript of Virgil, and first published with text in 1741. Brunet V, 1291.
