Hallmarked Georges Rudier, Founder Paris The original plaster model was presented by Rodin to his friend, Léon Deschamp - hence the dedication in the mould. The latter´s heirs had eight copies cast at the Georges Rudier foundry in Paris. The castings were conducted in 1986-1988. Le Musée Rodin received one copy - no. 1, épreuve d'artiste, 1986, and the Soumaya Museum, Mexico, owns copy no. 6, cast in 1987. Le Musée Rodin was not involved in the creation of the eight copies, but the sculptures should be considered approved posthumous castings.
