Arnold's Charles Frodsham No.986; A fine Victorian gilt-brass striking carriage clock with twin up-and-down indications , the case with incised angels glazed to all four sides with rear-opening door and large glazed aperture in the top with typical handle, the white enamel Roman dial signed Charles Frodsham Clockmaker to the Queen 84 Strand London 986, with fine blued fleurs de lys hands, subsidiary white enamel up-and-down dials below for going and strike reserves, (1-8), the twin fusee movement with five conical-formed double-screwed pillars, the large gilt foliate engraved platform with bi-metallic compensated balance to lever escapement, mantaining power, strike and half-hour strike on gong with strike/silent indication on the back plate with blued arrow-head pointer, the backplate signed Arnold's Charles Frodsham Clock maker to the Queen 84, Strand London. 986 ; original mahogany travelling case with leather handle, circa 1845 8¼in. (21cm.) high
