E. & W. BOND, 45 CORNHILL, LONDON, CIRCA 1835
A VERY FINE CASED BUTT-RESERVOIR SPORTING AIR RIFLE E. & W. BOND, 45 CORNHILL, LONDON, CIRCA 1835 With two 30 ½ in. (77.5 cm.) browned twist signed sighted barrels, one octagonal and cut with multi-groove rifling, the other two-stage and smoothbore, each barrel with own figured walnut fore-end, dark horn fore-end cap, and horn-tipped ramrod, signed case-hardened action finely engraved with scrollwork and scenes involving deer in a parkland setting, rotating loading drum with engraved tap on the left side, and blued trigger-guard engraved with further scrollwork, two browned twist butt-reservoirs each with figured walnut comb and blued engraved butt-plate, and retaining nearly all its original finish throughout, in original lined and fitted brass-cornered mahogany case with accessories including stirrup-pump, the lid with illustrated E. & W. Bond trade label, the exterior with two old inventory labels
