A Very Fine Cased Pair Of 32-Bore Percussion Duelling Pistols By John Manton & Son, Dover Street, London, No. 11176 for 1836 With browned twist octagonal multi-groove rifled sighted barrels each signed in full on the top flat, scroll engraved case-hardened patent breeches each with engraved pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved case-hardened tangs and detented locks, the former each incorporating the back-sight, the latter each with blued safety-catch and inscribed 'Jn. Manton & Son Patent', finely figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, finely engraved blued iron mounts, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, blued barrel bolts, blued set triggers, horn fore-end caps, and original brass-tipped ramrods, in vitually unused condition: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including three-way flask covered in red leather, and original serial numbered bullet mould, the lid with trade label and flush-fitting carrying handle, the whole set in exceptional original condition throughout, London proof marks 15in.
