A silver-gilt and enamel tea-pot Cyrillic mark of Ivan Khlebnikov with Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1886 The circular lobed base on four bun feet, decorated with foliate scrolls on turquoise reserves and bands, with inverted stepped lower section to the body, the sides with repoussé and chased scalework and seven lobes enamelled with a view of the Kremlin and St. Basil's, between foliate scrolls and a stylized bird, with fan-shaped reserves of similar scrolls and pink and white above, the spout formed as a bird's head, the cylindrical neck connected to the spout by a pierced stretcher, the scalework handle with S-shaped design along the spine and mother-of-pearl insulators, the domed detachable cover similarly decorated with chequered lobes and finial, marked under base and on rim of cover 7 7/8 in. (20 cm.) high
