Reign of Nicholas II (1894-1917), dated 1/11/1917 with curved watered blade double-edged at the point and fullered over most of its length on each side, one side on the forte with gilt inscription in Russian 'To Colonel I. Tsyumanenko from the officers of the Rymnikskiy regiment 1917 I/II' between etched foliage, regulation brass hilt cast and chased with laurel decoration and comprising knuckle-guard extending to form a downcurved ring and engraved 'For Bravery' in Russian along each side, pommel with applied silver cypher of Nicholas II (probably replaced) on an oval at the back, threaded ovoidal pommel-cap with applied red enamelled Order of St. Anne Fourth Class, ribbed hard-rubber grip, and sword-knot with St. Anne's strap, in original wooden scabbard covered in blackened leather (some loss of finish) with brass mounts and ring for suspension 80.5cm blade
