A PAIR OF HIGHLY IMPORTANT FRENCH SILVER-MOUNTED IMARI PORCELAIN TUREENS, COVERS AND STANDS The silver mounts Paris, 1726-32 and 1744-50, one tureen with maker's mark of Louis Regnard; the porcelain circa 1700 The tureens each circular, mounted with circular footrim with acanthus leaves under bead and reel border, and with gadrooned collar, joined to hinged straps with leaf-capped reeded bracket handles above paired dolphins with a trident between, the domed cover with reeded collar and surmounted by a bud finial, the circular stand mounted with gadrooned border, the porcelain decorated with underglaze cobalt blue, polychrome enamels and gilt with flowering chrysanthemums, the first marked under base with charge mark of Jacques Cottin and Louis Gervais and indistinct warden's and maker's marks, the finial, cover rim, bowl rim, straps, foot rim, and rim of stand with discharge mark; the second marked under base with charge mark of Antoine Leschaudel and maker's mark of Louis Regnard, and warden's mark probably 1749, the cover rim, bowl rim, one handle, foot rim, and rim of stand with discharge mark The tureens 12in.
