Beschreibung:

Despite only being in production for a couple of years(1976-77) the 911 “Carrera3” is an historically important model, combining two significant elements from the long 911 timeline. It was the latest incarnation of the Carrera name, originally applied to the 911 with the legendary RS in 1972, and the Carrera 3.0’s engine was essentially the same as its sibling the 930 Turbo, without the forced air induction. Chassis #816 is a rare UK-delivered RHD version, supplied new by Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield on 1st May 1977. The Carrera3 has been well maintained during its lifetime, having benefitted from servicing and maintenance by well known main dealers and recognised marque specialists. Notably there is an invoice for engine rebuild work at Autofarm (at 56,594 miles), and £11,500 in invoices for bodywork restoration (including sills and kidney bowls) by Clarke and Carter. The current owner of 9 years has used Autostrasse for mechanical work, supported by receipts totalling £9,000. In 2014 the gearbox was rebuilt, a new clutch fitted, and is said to now perform extremely well. Lastly the exhaust system has been upgraded with the desirable SSI heat exchangers. Ted Gushue of Petrolicious, having driven this very example, commented, “I can confidently say that I’ve never craved anything else until I drove this 3.0 Carrera for a few hundred miles over Goodwood’s Member’s Meeting Weekend. It’s the perfect power to weight ratio, runs like a top, and is just a sublime delight to drive at speed or around London. Mechanically speaking the car is bulletproof, and cosmetically speaking it’s right where you want it to be inside and out”. Offered with a comprehensive history file and UK V5 document, this is a very well sorted classic Porsche, and we feel a strong investment for the future.
