1930 Ford Model A Pick-Up Hot Rod Lot Number169 RegistrationBF 5760 Chassis NumberA2916472 Estimate£30,000 - £35,000 Print details Send this to a friend Contact us 3 more images Superb £95,000 restoration/transformation Powered by 5.7 litre Chevrolet V8 The Ford Model A was manufactured between 1928 and 1931 and was the second huge success for Ford after its predecessor, the Model T. The Model A was offered in a wide variety of body styles and was the first Ford to incorporate the standard set of driver controls with a conventional clutch, brake pedal, accelerator, and gearshift. In addition to manufacturing in the United States, Ford made the Model A in Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The 1930 and 1931 models were offered with exterior door handles, stainless steel radiator cowlings and headlight housings. This particular fabulous looking vehicle bares no resemblance to the original, as it has been the subject of a complete restoration/transformation to the Hot Rod you see today at a mind-blowing cost of £95,000. The car is actually a 1929 model, but the DVLA have stated that it’s a 1930 model on the V5 registration document (probably not that it really matters in this instance!) The meticulous work was carried out by the well know specialist John Wilcox of the Penguin Speed Shop in Wales. It is powered by the mighty 350 Chevrolet 5.7 litre V8 mated to an automatic gearbox. The car is presented in gleaming black with Whitewall tyres and a grey vinyl interior with a silver fleck which looks stunning. This Ford also has running boards, swooping wings to the rear and front and its superb V8 engine which is gleaming is open to the elements. The car comes with a V5 registration document, and it really does have to be seen to be fully appreciated as the workmanship is superb. A real head turner and certainly one for the collector, user or to an enthusiast.
