Beschreibung:

The Ford Model A was manufactured between 1928 and 1931 and was the second huge success for Ford after its predecessor, the Model T. The Model A was offered in a wide variety of body styles and was the first Ford to incorporate the standard set of driver controls with a conventional clutch, brake pedal, accelerator and gearshift. The engine was a water cooled in-line four cylinder arrangement with a capacity of 3.2 litres or 2.2 litres. With a conventional three speed gearbox, (plus reverse), the top speed was around 65 mph. Stopping power was by four wheel drum brakes operated by rods. In addition to manufacturing in the United States, Ford made the Model A in Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom. The 1930 and 1931 models were offered with exterior door handles, stainless steel radiator cowlings and headlight housings. Presented today is a highly original, authenticated 1930 Model A Phaeton with the larger and more desirable 3.2 engine. The Phaeton is one of the rarer and more sought-after Model A body styles and it is believed that this is one of less than 10 remaining Phaetons in the UK today. Furthermore it is an original right hand drive example and it is recognised within the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC) and eligible for a VSCC Buff Form. It was imported into the UK from Portugal in 1990 and has four previous owners recorded on the V5C registration certificate. This Ford motor car has recently been sympathetically re-commissioned with the aim of retaining as much of its original condition as possible. To maintain the originality whilst re-commissioning, advice and help was obtained from the Ford Model A Club of Great Britain and its local members. Details of these works are listed within the history file together with a record of parts replaced or reconditioned. This Model A looks very handsome in its colour of Desert Sand and is complemented by, what appears to be, the original black interior and its high quality canvas duck hood. Although MoT test exempt, the vendor felt it prudent to have one, therefore, it has a current MoT test certificate valid until 12th February 2015 and 'Historic' road fund licence valid until the end of January 2015. On a recent test, the car drove, steered and stopped as required. A full set of weather equipment, including side screens, will enable the lucky new owner to enjoy the full VSCC calendar of events in all weathers. A fine example realistically estimated and therefore representing an ideal opportunity for the pre-war enthusiast. *The reserve has been lowered on this car
