Beschreibung:

1925 CITROEN C3 CABRIOLET Registration No. BWR 555B Chassis No. 62/884 Engine No. T.B.A. Yellow with black wings and red interior. Left hand drive. 1922 saw the introduction of the 856cc 5CV Citroen, with cloverleaf bodywork, a detachable cylinder head, quarter elliptic springs all round, a foot transmission brake and coil ignition. This popular little car was almost indestructable and remained into production in 1925 - the year that Noel Westwood used one to drive all round Australia. This particular 5CV was imported from Jersey in 1955, hence the later registration number. Under the modern D.V.L.C. rules, the car is eligible for a period registration number and Christie's would be pleased to assist in this matter if required. The car was first delivered to France and is reputed to have been hidden during German occupation in the war. Its present owner purchased it in England in 1962 and embarked on a major restoration which included the fitting of a correct replacement engine he managed to locate in France. It has the benefit of windows that pull up out of the doors for winter driving and an opening windscreen for those balmy summer evenings. This charming little vintage tourer has seen regular use, is described as driving well and comes complete with a large file of history.
