Y A FRENCH SILVER GILT CAMPAIGN SET RETAILED BY GAVETPARIS, 1809-1819 2ND STANDARD (.800) ALSO 1819-1838 MARKSComprising; a plain beaker by Louis-Jacques Berger 7.7cm (3in) high; a table fork, a table spoon and a knife by François-Charles-Gavet, each numbered to a screw-in mounted mother of pearl handle; a steel knife similar with a conforming handle; and a silver gilt only tea spoon by another maker, the cutlery nesting in a red leather covered receiver with the printed trade label of Gavet, all contained in a red leather covered case with gilt initials LC, 14cm (5 1/2in) highProvenance:Probably taken on campaign by General Lord Hely-Hutchinson of Alexandria (1757-1832)Catalogue Note: Gavet traded from 138 rue St-Honoré vis-à-vis l'Oratoire, appointed as cutler to the king 1782, died in 1840. Berger traded from 18 place Thonville and 2 rue de Lodi from 1798 to 1807.
