William Bond & Sons Mahogany Astronomical Floor Regulator No. 152, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1860, the turned and segmented wooden bezel opens to the 11 1/2-in. silvered brass dial with outer circumferential minutes, subsidiary dials for upper seconds and lower hours, signed William Bond & Sons,/Boston./No. 152 within the hour subsidiary dial, glazed waist section opens for set up and to reveal the original pulley with six crossings, brass-cased weight, steel rod with "T-bridge" suspension, mercury temperature-compensating steel cylinder pendulum and silvered beat scale, eight-day, four-wheel train, heavy brass, five-pillar movement with maintaining power, jeweled on escape, pallet pivots and inset pallets, beat setting thumbscrews on pallet arbor and spring-loaded steel cable follower serves as a winding stop, all attached to a heavy cast iron bracket mounted to the backboard for movement and pendulum support, ht. 76 in.
