Lot of 4 of Civil War era construction views in Washington, D.C. including E. & H.T. Anthony #1333 of Washington Monument under construction. Scaffolding seen on top and frame buildings near base (2 cent orange Proprietary tax stamp affixed to verso); two different hand-tinted Anthony views, #914 & #2745 showing the Capitol in distance with unfinished dome (both with 2 cent green Proprietary tax stamps) & an anonymous(not a copy), early view of U.S. Patent Office under construction with high crane, frame building and an stone visible by nearly completed building. Monument view on yellow square corner mount w/manuscript title at top recto edge. Other Anthony views on yellow mounts with worn corners. All three with paper title labels & as noted Tax stamps on versos. Patent Office view on tan square corner mount w/pencilled description on verso in Burchard's hand. Provenance: The Ed Burchard Stereoview Collection Condition: Overall Bright & clear. Mount wear noted in description. Some very mild soil/foxing in latter three.
