Provenance : Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Dawson's Bookshop, Los Angeles, 1 January 1942) -- donated to SMS 1942. FIRST EDITION. The Augustinian Friars at Nuremberg maintained a sort of private press, printing only eight or nine books from 1479 to 1490, and the Augustinian Missal of 1491. All their books are set in one fount and type-size. This work is unevenly printed, the foliation is very irregular and there are some typographical errors; nevertheless the monks produced an attractive little book.
