FIRST EDITION, aquatint frontispiece, printed in colors and finished by hand with engraved leaf of explanation, 35 plates, 34 of them in two slightly variant forms: line engravings with key lettering to the text and color-printed with hand finishing; plate 18 in line only (a copy from Blumenbach, De basi encephali ), all by Mlle. Briceau (later Mme. Angelique Allais); half-title, title-page, dedication page to Louis XVI, 54 pages "Discours" ([1-]54), 111 pages "Explication des planches" ([1-]111) with 5 fly-titles, 69 pages "Vocabulaire anatomique" ([55-]123).
