VERY SOUGHT AFTER ORIGINAL DU-KOPP MANUFACTURED WWI GERMAN MAXIM MG-08 SLED MOUN...

Schätzpreis
4.000 $ - 6.000 $
Zuschlagspreis:
n. a.
Beschreibung:

It is extremely unusual to find a World War I Maxim MG-08 sled mount with the original pads intact. This sled mount was manufactured by Du-Kopp and retains the legible triangular manufacturer’s plate on the side of the sheet metal. Other key components present are the top strap and rear traverse lock. Oil caps are not present. CONDITION: Most of the original painted finish remains with scattered corrosion throughout. Hinged covers of the spare lock boxes are present and serviceable. The elevation mechanism moves smoothly when actuated as do the rotating legs. 3 of the 4 original canvas pads remain complete and intact. The fourth has a small dime-sized circular hole but remains completely serviceable. Nearly always, the ravages of use, mice, poor handling/storage, or time have taken their toll. In this case one has the rare opportunity to acquire a Du-Kopp manufactured World War I German Maxim MG-08 sled mount in “as found” condition. The discerning Maxim collector will appreciate this sled mount. JWK 2022-3-46
