TWO EXCEEDINGLY RARE FAMILLE ROSE SEATED FIGURES OF LUOHAN YONGZHENG-QIANLONG PERIOD (1723-1795) The two Luohan are modelled with legs crossed in dhyanasana , seated on separately made rock boulders. One figure wears a long flowing robe enamelled in purple, edged with lavender blue, with an outer yellow robe decorated with floral medallions. The face with finely detailed features including a faint beard framing around the gently indented smiling lips. His hands are outstretched holding a yellow enamelled flute. The other Luohan wears a similarly decorated floral robe of purple and pink. His rounded face is depicted with eyes downcast, a full beard and a smiling expression. Both are featured sitting on seats in imitation of large jagged rocks, enamelled in turquoise and outlined in black for details. 9 in. (22.8 cm.) and 9 1/8 in. (23.2 cm.) high (2)
