Two 19th Century American School Daguerreotypes: Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Seated Child, and American School, 19th Century, Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of Two Girls in Matching Dresses, both in embossed leather cases. Condition: The first with minor tarnish, several brown accretions along left edge, case worn and abraded, especially at edges, repaired spine; the second has several brown spots, one on head of girl on right, case worn and abraded, cover missing, case opening up at l.r. corner, small area of corrosion at top of brass mat, velvet liner faded and worn, not examined out of cases. Provenance: A private New England collection.
