[Nuremburg]: 1750-[1773]. 10 parts (decuriae) in one volume, broadshaeets and imperial 2° half sheets (516 x 350mm). 9 engraved titles only (of 10, lacking Decuriae X ) lettering in red, black and gold (all supplied from another copy), 3 mezzotint portraits of Trew, G.D.Ehret and J.J.Haid, 100 FINE HAND-COLOURED ENGRAVED PLATES AFTER GEORG DIONYSIUS EHRET by Johann Jacob Haid, each with the first word of caption heightened in gold. (The first title repaired at inner margin and almost detached). Modern calf in imitation of 18th-century panelled calf. Provenance : Many of the plants are identified according to the ?Linnaean system in an early hand. A FINE SET OF THE PLATES TO THE FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE GREATEST 18TH-CENTURY BOTANICAL COLOUR-PLATE BOOKS, without the very rare supplement by Vogel (published in two decuriae in 1790-1792).
