(2, one each side) tied by Gyantse type C3 c.d.s., similar on the reverse along with a fine strike of Yatung type C3 arrival (1.8). Fine and attractive. This is a soldier's letter from an officer in the Second Battalion to an officer of the Right Wing in Yatung Camp. Chinese soldiers did not enjoy free post privilege and their mail is scarce. Within two months of this letter the Chinese army in Lhasa mutinied against their commanders, a direct cause of their being ousted from Tibet.
