10-inch latched dial with double wheat-ear border and signed along the lower edge Tho: Tompion Londini Fecit, winged cherub spandrels, finely matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the 8-day movement with six latched, knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement with bolt and shutter maintaining power, internal locking plate striking on a bell, the pendulum with lenticular bob, brass rod and graduated rating nut, the case with flat top moulded cornice, foliate frieze fret and spiral pilasters to the rising hood, rectangular trunk door and crossbanded plinth with later base moulding  6ft 4½in; 192cm highCondition reportDial in good condition, top left winged spandrel repaired with second screw from rear, hands appear to be original, hour hand has half of the cross-piece missing but otherwise good, gilding to dial plate appears to be original. Movement is complete and running at time of cataloguing but would benefit from a clean and fresh oil, it appears to retain the original wheel work throughout. Case in generally good condition with many old repairs, cracks and marks throughout, hood frets replaced, plinth substantially re-built and with later base, moulding lifting to top right of trunk door, otherwise good and of attractive colour. With pendulum, 2 brass-cased weights, winder and door key.
