Illustrated with engraved plates. 16x10 cm (6x4"), period half calf and marbled boards, black morocco spine labels lettered in gilt. Reprint of the 1822 edition. Nice set of the works of the multitalented poet, surgeon, and clergyman George Crabbe, best remembered for his employment of realistic narrative, and for his realist depiction of working- and middle-class people and everyday life. Ex Libris American Academy of Arts and Letters, with their illustrated bookplates (stamped "void"). Lot Amendments Condition: Rubbing to boards and leather, institutional label at base of spines; vol. 1 with front free endpaper detached and laid in, scattered light foxing; very good. Lots sold without reserve are sold “as Is” and are not returnable under any circumstances.
