(folio) 34.5x21 cm. (13¾x8¼"), rebound in modern calf, new endpapers. First Edition in English. English translation of Ornithologiae libri tres, first published in 1676. Books 2 and 3 each preceded by inserted leaf bearing table for respective book. Lot Amendments Condition: Dampstaining to the text, mostly marginal staining/foxing to the plates; title-page chipped, a few small holes, marginal chips to the two plates in the text; old repairs to several of the plates, Plate XXI torn about 4", Plate XXVII with repairs to chips, partially backed; good condition overall.
