The is the rare fourth book in the English Pilot series, which when first issued in 1764 was the first significant collection of charts exclusively relating to America to be published in England, of great significance. The present copy is lacking the large inserted folding charts but is textually complete except for missing pp. 5-6, and is replete with woodcut coastal views and charts.
