numerous pp., sm. 4to & 8vo, c. 1837-57, on the activities of Henry Teale, this letter by John Bradbury of Bradbury & Greatorex, “Dear William [his brother] It is with feelings of deep regret, that I am compelled to write you, on the conduct of your brother Henry: you are no doubt aware that about a month ago I informed your Father that we had found out that he had been sloping from home 2 & 3 nights a week and we were afraid he had got into bad society: this has unfortunately proved too true, for yesterday we received a communication that he had formed an acquaintance with a Woman of the town, and that Goods had been given to her by him; supposed to be abstracted by him from our warehouse... I am sure you will agree with us that after such a circumstance we cannot allow your brother to remain with us any longer... it would be impossible for us as honourable men to give him a character of honesty...”, and Henry’s subsequent career in Kingston, Jamaica trading sugar, folds, some tears, some browning
