TANGKA D'HERUKA Tibet, XVIIIe siècle Pigments sur coton, 50 x 33 cm Heruka est représenté ici en pratyalidha sur un socle de lotus supporté par une incroyable cohorte de démons et d'animaux surréalistes. Il est en union avec sa parèdre Nairatma. Représenté à six bras et trois têtes ( ellesmêmes à trois yeux), il porte sur ses hanche une peau d'éléphant et une peau de tigre, arbore un collier de têtes humaines fraichement coupées, de sa chevelure en flamme, émerge un vajra. Il est entouré d'un paysage complexe, fait de rocs chaotiques d'où emergent des chutes d'eau elles-mêmes en cascade et finissant en un lac habité d'une île verdoyante, et de divinités farouches extraordinairement bien réalisées. (cf la divinité farouche du bas, complètement entourée de serpents et émergeant d'une base elle même réalisée d'un serpent émergeant de l'eau. Ce tangka a une qualité plastique et surréaliste de vision assez extraordinaire. With six arms and three heads with three eyes, embracing his consort Nairatma, he is waering an elephant skin and a tiger skin, a necklace done of freshly cut human heads and from his hair in fire, is emerging a vajra. This painting has a high quality of drawn and polychrome, full of dymamism ( cf the garuda, plongeing litterally with a snake in his peak), not only made with dexterity and finely painted with a lot of details, but giving a great strenght and cohesion of the whole. He is really strongly constructed, even if full of details ( for exemples the two owls on the rock in the left.) He has been painted by a real master.
