Height 25 inches (63 cm), diameter 20 inches (51 cm). After its initial discovery during Antiquity, the active remining of porphyry occurred in Sweden, circa 1780. During the late 18th/early 19th century the workshops produced vases, urns and other monumental vessels often mounted with gilt-bronze made in either Sweden or France.
