SOVEREIGNS EDWARD VII GOLD POCKET WATCH. A coin miniature pocket watch with a lever escapement. Brushed gilt dial with flowers motifs, outer gilt minute division, black inner Roman numerals, blued hands. One side of the sovereign has a portrait in the middle of "Edward VII" surrounded by the inscription EDWARDVS VII D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMF: On the reverse we can see Pistrucci's all time classic design of St. George Killing the Dragon to celebrate Britain's victory in the battle of Waterloo. The sovereign coins of Edward VII were first struck in 1902 after a Royal proclamation was issued on December 10th 1901, with a weight of 7.98g and 22.05mm, 1.56 thickness and 0.917 purity gold. The sovereigns during this period were struck in the Royal Mint in Melbourne and London. This collectable sovereigns has been transformed into a miniature pocket watch making it even more exclusive and sought after in the market nowadays.
