No significant losses or instabilities on the painted surface. The painting has not been attended to in some time, and it is slightly dirty with a yellowed varnish. There is a faint pattern of craquelure throughout that is not too distracting. A repair is visible in the head of the sheep standing at lower left. Inspection under UV reveals a slightly milky varnish. It also reveals spots of retouching, possibly to address a small old puncture, in the upper left sky. A few additional scattered retouches are visible in the lower sky, with a thin spot in the center of the sky, and a few scattered strokes in the foreground near lower center and at lower right. The painting may benefit from a light clean. Offered in a decoratively carved wood frame with a gilt liner. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
