Presentation from the author to John F. Grabau on front free endpaper, Grabau's bookplate on front pastedown. 1924. Wachter, Carl. Star Glints. Three-quarter blue morocco and boards, spine gilt, top edge gilt. No. 27 of 700 copies. Signed by the author at limitation and additionally inscribed on frontispiece. Published (and presumably bound) by John F. Grabau. 1917. A ring binder containing various clippings, photocopies, and ephemera relating to John Grabau. Three wood-handled binding stamps from the studio of John F. Grabau. Marked "F. Klement, Leipzig, Germany, 1902". Two are leaves, the third a plant vine. Also, Loti, Pierre. L'Exilee. Full brown morocco by Frances Hubbard Larkin, her gilt stamp and bookplate inside front cover. Larkin was the sister of Elbert Hubbard and had many bindings executed by Grabau in her library. This volume likely bound by her in Grabau's studio. Anthon, Charles. Sallust. Full red cloth. A note tipped to front endpaper explains: "Bound in red cloth by A. Gow Brownell in the John F. Grabau Studio c.1938. Brownell was a student at the studio." Bedier, Joseph. La Chanson de Roland. Stitched signatures with boards attached, binding unfinished. A note tipped to front endpaper explains: "Partially bound by A. Gow Brownell in the John F. Grabau Studio c.1938. Brownell was a student at the studio." An interesting group of material.
