SENEX, John & PRICE, Charles, London, 1706 A New Cleftial GLOBE whereon y e Stars are Carefully laid down from y e Correct Obfervations of Mr Hevelius, Cap t Halley &Ce. Made & Sold by Cha.Price & John Senex next dore to y e Fleece Fountain in Carnhill A fine 12-inch (30.5cm.) diameter celestial table globe made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes laid to the celestial poles, the equatorial and the equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with symbols, the constellations depicted by mythical beasts and figures and some objects with some hand-colouring in green and red, labelled in Latin, the stars to six orders of magnitude, some labelled in Latin ( a number of neatly repaired cracks, separation between the gores ), with elegant engraved brass hour dial and pointer on top of the engraved brass meridian circle, the mahogany horizon with engraved paper ring graduated in degrees and days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with names and symbols, also with wind directions, raised on four curved quadrant supports to baluster turned central column with three outswept legs united by cross-stretchers with 5in.
