Most approx. 10 x 16 in. and 5 on vellum, 4 on paper. Includes three secretarially signed for Martin Van Buren, dated 2 Dec. 1839 for Thomas clark Morgan Co., IL, and two dated 1 Jan. 1840, one for James Shannon and one for George Cuddy, both of Madison Co., IL. One with statement from General Land Office that in an attempt to reorganize the GLO, that what is attached if true copy of record of sale for land to William Russell of St. Louis, MO. With ribbons and wax seal. This one a bit smaller, 9 x 14 in. One with Land Office note dated 15 Feb. 1849, that what is attached is a true copy, with manuscript copy of land grant on 8 x 13 in. blue legal sheet, for Martin Prewitt, secretarially signed for James Monroe. With ribbons and wax seal intact. One with land office note dated 6 May 1854, stating that the attached copy is true, with deed for Robert Stewart and signed for Millard Fillmore 3 Jan. 1851. With ribbons and seal. One with land office statement dated 24 Oct. 1872, with copy of deed on paper for Rufus Easton, dated 16 June 1820 and initialed "J.M." for James Monroe. Ribbons and seal intact. One with land office statement dated 18 March 1875, with paper copy of deed for James Harrison of Madison Co., IL, secretarially signed for Martin Van Buren; originally dated 2 Dec. 1839. Ribbons and seal intact. And last with land office statement dated 2 Jan. 1883, with paper copy of deed with lithographed vignette in upper left corner, for John Alexander a War of 1812 veteran; dated 16 July 1818 and initialed "J.M." for James Monroe. Ribbons and seal intact. Condition: All with folds. Just a couple with minor insect damage. Varying amounts of soil and toning, but generally good.
