Lot of four, including: a printed circular dated September 1860, from Erasmus Sterling, Secretary of the Young Men's Republican Union, advertising the sale of copies of Lincoln's address at Cooper Union, in two forms, accompanied by two of the more expensive option. The pamphlets, which were sold at $1 for 16 copies, feature glossy gilt imprinted wraps and contain a preface and notes by Union members Charles C. Nott and Cephas Brainerd; 32pp. Also included is an Explanatory Note on the speech, 12pp, detailing Mr. Nott's correspondence with Lincoln regarding distribution of the speech, signed by Nott and dated Feb. 22, 1907. Condition: Circular is excellent. One of pamphlets is very good, with only partial separation of wraps at spine, the other heavily worn and repaired at the spine. Explanatory note is very good.
