Ross ( Sir John) Explanation and Answer to Mr.John Braithwaite's Supplement to Captain Sir John Ross's Narrative of a Second Voyage in the Victory , in Search of a North-West Passage, 8pp., first edition , drop-head title, foxed, light creasing to lower edge, original printed wrappers, light foxing to lower wrapper, [Sabin 73370], 4to, A.W.Webster, [1835]. ⁂ Braithwaite was an engineer who had designed the first practical steam fire engine. His firm, Messrs. Braithwaite and Ericsson supplied the boilers for the paddle-steamer Victory in which Ross set out on his second voyage in 1829.
