Rust mark from paperclip, short closed tear to margin of second leaf . In spring of 1962, Mrs. Kennedy and her sister Lee Radziwill made an official visit to India and Pakistan. The trip was a whirlwind tour and the two were welcomed by crowds and photographed constantly, greatly enhancing American relations in those countries. Here Radziwill writes that the trip was a "tremendous success ... all your clothes were an absolute dream." She jokingly continues that the clothes made for the trip "are now all in a rather pathetic condition after 3 weeks of 1 night stands and well worn! ... It seemed that 'Oleg Cassini' were the words heard most often by the Indians & Pakistanis & they'll be expecting you out there to redesign their saris!"
