Literature: Illustrated and discussed in Connecticut Valley Furniture: Eliphalet Chapin and his Contemporaries, 1750-1800, Kugelman et al., p. 190, Catalog 85. The authors note that "this is the only Chapin School flat-top high chest with two drawers in the lower case. Despite the simplicity, it is competently made and follows Chapin shop practices quite closely."
