Sundry civilians and enthusiastic boys are scattered throughout the background. It is unfortunate that we have no history or provenance whatsoever on this fine, unpublished image. Still, the plate is palpable in conveying the festival-like activity that must have accompanied a typical militia muster in 1860. Condition: The clear plate is flawless, EXC with good clarity for the extreme depth of field and positively glows under artificial light. The plate is backed by a piece of dark velvet and housed in a separated composition case.
