i. South Pole, large silver spoon (170mm. long), "Roald Amundsen, Fram, Sydpolens Opdager, 14-17-DCMR-1911" engraved on recto of spoon, portrait of Roald Amundsen, illustration of the ship "Fram" and the Norwegian coat of arms on handle, map of the south pole on bowl, engraved initials "BB" and "19-10-12", and makers mark on verso of handle, [K.E. Sando, goldsmith, Saaheim, folding box and engraved initials]. RARE spoon pertaining Amundsen's 1911 expedition, where he was the first to reach the South Pole. ii. North Pole, 3 silver spoons (130mm. long), "Polflyvningen 21 mai-15 juni 1925 / 87° 43 2 NB/ Ellsworth, Feucht, Omdal, Riiser-Larsen, Dietrichson", text in bowl, portrait of Roald Amundsen, and the Norwegian coat of arms on handle, all with makers mark to verso of handle (one also with prize engraving on verso dated 1926). RARE spoons from the 1925 expedition to the North Pole, where Amundsen and his team members went to the northernmost latitude reached by plane up to that time. iii. North Pole, 2 silver spoons (120mm. long), "Polflyvningen 1926", engraved on recto of spoon handle, portrait of Roald Amundsen and illustration of the airship "Norge" on handle, all with makers mark to verso of handle, map of the North Pole on bowl. RARE spoons from the 1926 expedition where Amundsen and 15 other men made the first aircraft crossing of the polar ice cap between Europe and America in the airship "Norge". iv. Northwest Passage and South Pole, electroplated silver spoon (137mm. long), portrait of Roald Amundsen to spoon handle, map of the Northwest Passage and the South Pole on bowl, including the ship "Gjøa", dated 1905 and 1911, "Kristiania. Norge" engraved on recto of handle. Spoon from Amundsen's first expedition to successfully traverse Canada's Northwest Passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and his 1911 expedition to the South Pole. v. South and North Pole, 5 electroplated silver spoons (128mm. long), "Sydpolen 1911, Nordpolen 1926" text in bowls, portrait of Roald Amundsen and a plane on handles, dated 14-12-28, all but one with makers mark to verso of handle.
