Original publisher's brown blindstamped cloth, lettered in gilt on spine (slightest wear at foot of spine, otherwise fine and bright); quarter morocco slipcase. Provenance : Cornelia Bradley (early signature on front flyleaf). FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, BAL's binding F. Comprises the third volume of the four volume posthumous collection of Poe's works (see previous lot). Griswold's defamatory "Memoir" which precedes The Literati constituted the standard Poe biography for years. BAL 16159; Heartman & Canny, p. 131. A FINE COPY.
