Photography.- Silvy (Camille) Trophée de Chasse, still life of dead game on a wooden board, albumen print, 217 x 158 mm. (8 ½ x 6 ¼ in.), corners trimmed, on contemporary blue card mount, 468 x 303 mm. (18 ½ x 11 ¾ in.), Silvy's stamped signature in red below image, [c 1858-59]. ⁂ The board is painted with the words La Galaisière and the monogram HF. Chateau de la Galaisière, near Silvy's home at Nogent-le-Rotrou in the Loire Valley, was the residence of Achille Gabriel Fergon (1795-1886) and the initials are almost certainly those of his son Henri Fergon (1832-1913). Portraits by Silvy of Achille, Henri and his sister Ernestine, all in hunting dress, together with another Trophée de Chasse, were sold by Brissonneau, Daguerre, Paris, 19 May 2010, lots 15-17, and are now in the Musée de Nogent-le-Rotrou. Like the other Trophée de Chasse cited above, elements at the edges of the board have been trimmed round to create a three-dimensional effect. 1858.
