Augmenté de plus de la moitié, outre les precedantes impressions [Kalendae Ianuariae & Varia quaedam Poemata], Claude Morel 1606, 8vo, red morocco, covers with wide gilt and gilt-stippled border, fan motifs at angles, smooth spine with title gilt-lettered lengthwise within double gilt-tooled panel, turn-ins gilt, g.e., by DE SAMBLANX and J. WECKESSER, a few small marginal repairs to first quire, lacking final blank leaf of the Kalendae, First complete edition (shared by Morel and A. L'Angelier), 2 parts in one, separate titles and pagination, engraved author portrait by Thomas de Leu in both volumes. From the library of Hector de Backer (sale, 3-6 May 1926, lot 503), morocco bookplate of Alfred Clericeau, (from Lardanchet, 1936, 40/748) -- ESTIENNE JODELLE. Les Oeuvres et meslanges poetiques. Paris: Nicolas Chesneau et Mamert Patisson 1583, 12mo, janséniste crimson morocco, turn-ins gilt, g.e., by Pagnant, lacking final blank (with penultimate blank) , Second edition ("premier volume", all published), with ff. 289-294 (B1r-B10v), containing Denisot's "Ode au Comte d'Alcinois", Aubigné's "Vers funèbres... sur la mort d'Estienne Jodelle" and other poems, lacking in many copies, unidentified nineteenth-century bookplate, motto "In libris curvatus conscicus in libris"; both Paris, together 2 vols., washed and pressed , italic type, printers' woodcut devices on titles, woodcut headpieces and floriated initials.
