(folio) 33.7x22.3 cm (13¼x8¾"), neatly hinged into mat with paper tape at left margin. Fine leaf from the second illustrated edition of Dante, with naked men walking through at treacherous landscape. This is apparently the recto of a leaf, with "Canto XX" printed in top margin; the verso has text with commentary (the commentary is by Christophorus Landinus) and in top margin, printed, "Inferno / Canto XX. della prima cantica di Danthe." Lot Amendments Condition: Slight marginal soiling and a small stain, a handsome leaf. Item number: 274796a
