Norman Parkinson (1913-1990) Couple on Tricycle with Tulips (Virginia Wynne Thomas); Couple on Lambretta (Judith Dent) Two unique gelatin silver prints, 1959, each annotated in pencil verso in an unknown hand, each on gloss photographic paper, each with margins, each sheet 380 x 303mm (15 x 12in) (unframed) (2) Both of the present photographs feature Anthony 'Tinka' Paterson, Parkison's favourite male model and muse. Patterson was known for his charm and amusing personality on set, which the photographer often captured on camera. Provenance: From the Angela Williams Archive, United Kingdom. Gifted directly from the artist to Williams, who was an assistant to Norman Parkinson during the time his studio was based in Twickenham, London.
