Lot of 2 signed first day covers, including examples from Armstrong, Neil (1930-2012), postmarked July 16, 1969, 6.5 x 3.75 in., and Buzz Aldrin (b. 1930), postmarked September 9, 1969 and July 20, 1969, 7.25 x 9.25 in. Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong signed first day covers for the Apollo 11 mission which placed the first man on the moon. Postmarked the same day of the launch at Patrick Air Force Base, the Apollo 11 FDC bears Neil Armstrong's signature and a commemorative 6 cent stamp of the Apollo 8. There is also a bold commemorative inked stamp on the front listing the names of all the men on board. The second first day cover, signed by Buzz Aldrin, has a commemorative 10 cent stamp celebrating the first man on the moon. It is postmarked twice, the second date is the day of the moon landing. Condition: Both have minor foxing on them.
