Napoléon, Prince Imperial (Napoléon Eugène Louis Jean Joseph Bonaparte, Prince Imperial, only son of Emperor Napoleon III and his wife, Eugénie de Montijo, 1856-79) Cahiers du Prince Imperial - Notes sur les Peuples d'Orient, 28pp., n.d.; Notes sur l'Organisation de l'Armee, 4pp. excluding blanks, n.d., autograph manuscripts, in French, slightly browned, original card wrappers, sm. 4to, [c. 1874] (2). ⁂ Napoléon, Prince Imperial was exiled to England after his father Napoleon III's defeat and capture by the Prussians at Sedan. He successfully applied to join the British Army to participate in the Anglo-Zulu War. In 1879, serving with British forces, he was killed in a skirmish with a group of Zulus.
