(9 x 7.5/8), bound in dark green morocco elaborately gilt, with 15 engraved portraits . A YOUTHFUL NAPOLEON II ON THE DEATH OF NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, "OUR DEAR N". "This event is one of saddest for me and all of my family. He has been our friend for a long time and never did our friendship suffer the slightest tension; he always respected his class with an exemplary regularity of conduct. He sometimes appeared cold which made him somewhat disagreeable to those who did not know him, but within he had such a tenderness that he would inspire those who had previously misjudged him...he was like a flame that illuminated those who knew him...he will live in his writings for the generations that follow..."
