From an affluent background, Daniel Pettiward, was born in Cornwall and educated at Eton, followed by University College, Oxford. He became an artist, book illustrator and author, and lived for many years in Salisbury. The other illustrations are: A Cockney in the Country by Virginia Graham; Silhouette by Ann Hay; Edwardian Echoes An Autobiography by Lady Echo O.B.E.; 'The World's Mine Oyster' A Travel Book by G.E.O.
