This is an unusual lot. Milligan started life as an aspiring painter before moving to writing and acting in comedy sketches, the Goon Show being much the most famous. He was also a musician. In 1995 the first exhibition of his paintings was held in London at the Agency Club with the centre piece being The Dancer. Included in this lot is a lithograph, allegedly of 100 but in fact only 50 copies, taken from the image of The Dancer and a poster advertising the exhibition, also taken from The Dancer. Collectors have a chance to buy three Milligans in different media of the same subject.
